Post Pro Creative
My name is Brad. I have been an architectural photographer since 2008. Over the course of my career, I have honed my editing skills. I take great pride in the work that I do and love working with other photographers to get their images through the editing process. Let’s talk about your project needs!
From RAW files to Final Images
Working on your images is a process that I don’t take lightly. As we begin working together, I like to have a discussion to learn about your style and goals for the images.
Using Capture One, I work from a RAW file to determine the correct white balance for the scene. If you photograph using a gray card or color checker chart, this helps a lot.
Next I adjust contrast, highlights, and shadows.
Working in Photoshop, I use your files to build the image. The direction for this is taken from your marked up image which shows different elements that you do or do not want in the final image. This step involves exposure blending, adding elements from other frames, adding in assets such as art or images on a TV, and removing distracting objects.
Finally, I take the image back into Capture One for some final adjustments before sending the images back to you for a round of reviews. This is where any revisions are requested. Once I have completed the final version of the images, I deliver back to you or directly to your client.
Services
-
The blending process involves selecting and combining the properly exposed parts of each image to ensure that the final photograph retains details in both highlights and shadows.
Compositing allows photographers and artists to merge different elements seamlessly.
-
Color Correction is adjusting and balancing the colors to ensure accurate representation of the building's materials and surroundings. This includes correcting white balance, saturation, and contrast.
-
Applying specific color tones or grading to enhance the mood or atmosphere of the photograph can contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of the architectural image.
-
Corrects any distortions introduced by the camera lens, especially in wide-angle shots. This helps maintain straight lines and accurate proportions of architectural elements.
-
Removing unwanted elements or distractions from the image, such as power lines, vehicles, or other objects that may detract from the focus on the architecture.
-
In cases where the sky is overcast or dull, photographers may opt to replace the sky to create a more visually appealing backdrop. This involves blending a new sky seamlessly into the image.
